Auction of Promises II

By Renee Zance

The 2nd Auction of Promises was held this weekend.

After heated bidding between 4 people, lot #1, a mountable pet, went to Meggie for $103.  Rumors have begun circulating that the pet will be a spectral platypus.  We'll have to wait and see what "hatches"...

Lot #2, a 5-tile island, received less enthusiasm, topping out at $75, well short of proxy bids that were submitted.  The final winner?  Mamba, with a proxy bid of $130.  We wonder if this will become a private resort, or if some exciting new dungeons will appear soon.

After a slow start, bidding for lot #3, a custom NPC town with associated quest, climaxed at $75; however, Mamba's proxy bid of $80 squeaked over that amount, giving the absentee an NPC town to go with the new land (although the new town may not necessarily be located on that land).

In contrast, the bidding for lot #4, a uniquely customized weapon, started off with a bang, increasing tenfold in the first three bids.  After significant discussion on the types of bonuses that could be applied, Zumato cast the winning bid of $121.

Last, but certainly not least was the highly sought-after lot #5, a uniquely customized 5-piece set of armor.  Bidding started at $100, which immediately overtook all proxy bids.  A bit of controversy ensued regarding a last millisecond bid that occurred between the time the gavel hit and the time the sound of that strike reached the bidders' ears.  When the dust settled, Makenshi came out victorious with a bid of $255, much to everyone's delight.

But wait... a mystery lot?!  Decius surprised us all with an auction for a custom recastable spell effect, which will provide 500pt bonuses to any two non-faction skills (but did allow for regen skills).  Saoshyant cast the winning bid of $60 for this lot.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners!  Decius and all Myzans appreciate your continued support!  The first auction, named the "Myzan Land Rush", was won by Heartswild for $165.  The first official "Auction of Promises" was a set of four lots won by Mamba for a total of $455.  This most recent auction should be considered a rousing success, with its total sales of $749.
